I woke up this morning
And I heard an awful sound
That darn soft swish of snowflakes as they rustle to the ground
Looked out my window and what did I see
A frozen winter landscape just a starin' back at me
I got the whinin ‘bout the weather
Cause I can’t slap no leather Blues
Snow up to my ankles
Snow up to my knees
Make it stop already I’m begging of you please!
I got lots of ammo loaded and dead I’m ready to go
But I can’t hardly find my truck in all this dad gum snow!
I got the whinin ‘bout the weather
Cause I can’t slap no leather Blues
All my stupid neighbors say…
“Oh how nice this looks”
As they squat down by their fireplace and read Harry Potter books
They ain’t got no way of knowin just exactly how I feel
I got a burnin need fer six-gun speed and sounds of ringin steel!
I got them whinin ‘bout the weather
Cause I can’t slap no leather Blues
I just hope it don’t keep snowin
All the way to Spring
For a few bright rays of sunshine I’d give almost anything
Getting freezin' cold and wet just ain’t really to my taste
But if I must I’ll shoot in snow that’s clear up to my waist!
I got them whinin ‘bout the weather
Cause I can’t slap no leather Blues
