David Lee Moffitt, 60, of Springfield died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. James Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens with family serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and again Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Born Sept. 30, 1949, in McMinnville to the late J.C. and Hazel Fann Moffitt, he was a member of Bethel Church of Christ, a veteran of the United States Air Force and worked as a registered nurse. He was a member in the Single Action Shooting Society and the Wartrace Regulators.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Clara Moffitt of Springfield; a son, Cristopher Lee (Eleana Grasso) Moffitt of Greenville, N.C.; a daughters, Stephanie Bowen of Hendersonville, Adrian (Matt) Calloway of White House, and Christy Horton of Hendersonville; brothers, Charles Hern (Vicki) Moffitt of Springfield, Steve (Donna) Moffitt of Bellevue, Tommy (Jill) Moffitt of Baton Rouge, La., and Bill (Lisa) Moffitt of Pleasant View; his sister, JoAnn (David) Gregory of Springfield; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. All donations may be sent care of the Robertson County Funeral Home.
