The cowboy world lost a great cowboy today 2/12/14. I lost the closest person I have ever had to a brother, maybe closer. He was Cypress Jack McKay, cowboy action shooter, but anybody that knew him, called him Pookie, his real name was Allen Orgeron. I think the only time he saw that name was on a paycheck. Pookie was full of life, he tried drag racing, tournament fishing and many other quality outdoor sports, until he found cowboy action shooting and realized he was a cowboy. The last couple of years have really been tough on him physically, but he nor his wife Frances ever gave up. He bought him a little red hot-rod to tool around in and he bought a RV set up in a campground, so he could get away once in awhile. But God had bigger plans for him and called him home this morning. Pookie was a great man, a gentle man, he would literally give you the shirt off his back, or the food off his plate. He was a great family man and husband, he leaves behind his beautiful wife Frances (Calico Lassie)and his two grown daughters, Jamie a well accomplished cosmetician and Allison who is a registered nurse. Pookie was a very spiritual man, he can now be re-united with his little friend Bandit (the family dog) who went ahead of him couple of years ago. May they both enjoy the vast plains and mountains together and all their great friends that are waiting on them.
