Mail donations to: Barb Snyder, PO Box 6, Allenwood, Pa. 17810
Make checks payable to Dennis Yoder.

I'm sure that as more and more shooters arrive home more details will be posted. (Most of us made a weekend of it and shot at Topton today.) However, I can give a brief recap.

1. Hurricane Hannah arrived and spent the day!
2. Over 140 people registered either as shooters or on the "Honors Posse" (paid to shoot with no intention of shooting)
3. We had enough food donated to feed everyone several times over!!!!!!!!
4. There were 4 raffles indepenent of the Chinese Auction and Silent Auction......Biloxi Bob won a '97, Granny Annie won a 22, a man from Shoemakersville won the shoulder mount (he wasn't there, nor was he a cowboy), the cowboy that won the '73 was not there but confirmed quickly in one short phone call that he wanted it auctioned off. Coincidently, this man's son is fighting brain cancer. Arturo Fuente was the winner bidder on the rifle when it was auctioned off.
5. It seems like almost everyone purchased a commemorative T-shirt. There are a few left though.
6. Folks attended from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and probably other close states. But the big surprises were a young airman from Texas (with local roots) and Grannie Annie and Blacksmith Hoss from Iowa!

It was a day like none I've ever spent before and I'm proud to be a part of the cowboy community. It rained, and rained and rained some more. However, everyone arrived early and stayed late. There was so much help that it was unbelievable. Dennis and Sallie spent the entire day. Family and friends of theirs came to witness the outpouring of generosity and friendship.

At the end of the day when all the proceeds were handed in and finally tallied up over $20,0000 was raised!!!!!!!!!!!

A huge thank you goes out to EVERYONE for their prayers, donations of time, money, items and energy.

The Dennis & Sallie Yoder Benefit was held on Saturday, September 6 at the Hamburg Rifle & Pistol Club.

Saturday September 6, 2008 was definitely the most memorable and touching day of both our lives.

Our cowboy family and friends came to support us from near and far; as far away as Texas and, two surprise cowboy friends from Iowa that everyone seemed to know were coming except Dennis. And yes, Dennis was surprised. There was an overwhelming number of people and even a special guest (Hurricane Hanna) that everyone seemed to ignore. There was enough food to feed a small town. The support from the people as well as all the help that was there was unbelievable. It is hard to express our thanks for everyone's planning, hard work and dedication to make something like this happen. We know the amount of hard work, effort, time, dedication and love that went into this day. We also want to thank everyone for their phone calls, cards, visits, hugs, donations and support as it means more to us than words can say.

A special Thank You goes out to Utah Bob for setting up the web site.

We both feel like the richest people on earth with friends like all of you. Please keep us in your prayers. Thank you!
