Robert "Bob" Grant, 66, of St. Louis, Mo., born April 6, 1942, in Caseyville, Ill., died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Grant was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Army and retired from NCR. Known as "The Sassafras Kid" he was an avid gun collector and enthusiast of the cowboy shooting style. He was a member of the Single Action Shooting Society, Gateway Shootist Society, Arnold Rifle and Pistol Club and Bullseye Gun and Rod Club.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Mary C., nee Steiner, Grant Sr.; and a brother, John H. Grant Jr.
Surviving are his siblings, Richard "Dick" (Betty) Grant of Collinsville, Ill., Patricia (Dallas) George of Kimberly City, Mo., and Carol Baker of Collinsville, Ill.; 15 nieces and nephews, Terri Bradtke, Karen (Ron) Covarrubias, John H. (Maria) Grant III, Susan (Gary) Dedman, Jerry Grant, Dianna (Stuart) Disbury, Mary (Chris) Burgess, Ronald George, Debra (Jim) Fuya, Rick (Mandy) George, William (Mary) Stogner Jr., David (Angie) Stogner, Robin Renner, Tammy (Glenn) Miller and Shelly (Tye) Jones; many great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; as well as many friends.
