I’ve got too much to do
To die
Today
So don’t slow me down and don’t get in my way

The horses need feedin
The cattle need breedin
The dog’s got his ball and he’s wantin to play

That fence needs some mendin’
An old friend needs friendin
I've got too much to do
To die
Today

A neighbor came callin
A new kitten’s bawlin
My old team’s about to engage in the fray

And tomorrow round sunup,
Got a new flag to run up
I've got too much to do
To die
Today

We got beautiful clear skies
There’ll be a fine moonrise
For dinner there’s trout that I need to filet

Firewood needs cutting
The bull elk are ruttin
I've got too much to do
To die
Today

Now there’s lots of folks sittin
Who seem to be smitten
With themselves, and money, and games that they play

Go ahead on and take one
And pass by this old son
I won’t waste any time, don’t you hear what I say?

I’ve done fightin and readin and lovin and bleedin
And helped a few out who have just lost their way
Leave me here like you should, I can still do some good
I’ll fix up some things I’ve done wrong if I may

Get your hand off my shoulder
You’re makin me colder
I got too much to do
To die
Today
Too Much to Do
