WOODRUFF, SC-- Russell Oscar Easler Jr.,63, of Woodruff passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Regional Hospice Home.
A native of Spartanburg County, he was the son of Russell Oscar "Pete" Easler Sr. of Woodruff and the late Loree Waddell Easler. He was a retired employee of Whitten Center in Clinton, a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church in Clinton and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Russell was a member of the Single Action Shooting Society, the Knife Maker's Guild and was a renowned knife maker known worldwide.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon Y. "Cricket" Easler of the home; one daughter, Noelle Easler McKenzie and her husband Glen of Boiling Springs; one grandson, Kaleb Waddell; two sisters, Susan E. Rhodes and her husband Roger of Roebuck and Eddie E. Powell and her husband Steve of Inman. Russell was married to the late Paula King Easler and from this marriage is survived by one son, Bryan Thomas and his wife Leigh of Columbia; two daughters, Suzanne Bailey and Brian of Woodruff and Michelle Butler and Tommy of Woodruff; five grandchildren, Cole and Noah Butler, Abbey and Emma Bailey and Ethan Thomas.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 21, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Lanford Funeral Home in Woodruff.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Lanford Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Phil Bryson and Mr. Warren Adams. Interment will follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the Regional Hospice Home,686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, S.C. 29303..
The family is at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Eddie E. and Steve Powell, 320 Valley High Drive, Inman.
