Ace LaRue aka Timothy John Linahan in now another fine cowboy who rides with the Lord. His battle with cancer ended on July 12, 2004, the day God led him to the gates of Heaven.


Tim was born July 1, 1941 in Santa Monica, CA. In 1957 he met the love of his life, Madeline, and they were married on August 15, 1959. They had three children, two daughter, and one son. Timothy was a loving husband and father who devoted himself to the well being and happiness of his family. He served his country in the US Army, After an honorable discharge in 1961, Tim worked as a union ironworker with Local 75 of Tucson, AZ. Tim was an accomplished welder, excavator, and gunsmith.

Fishing, hunting, and numerous shooting sports including fast draw and Cowboy Action Shooting were activities he enjoyed and derived great happiness from. Tim was a member of the NRA, Trap Shooters Association, Past president of the World Fast Draw Association, and the founder of El Buscaderos CAS club (Spirit Lake, ID) and the Tombstone Buscaderos CAS (Tombstone, AZ). While participating in these events, Tim gained the love, friendship, and respect of many. He will be remembered as a man with a great competitive spirit, who contributed much to the shooting community. Those who had the privilege of seeing him shoot can safely say, that as a result, they know how it’s done. He was a shining example of true sportsmanship and “The Cowboy Way”.

Survivors include Madeline Lee, his beautiful and loving wife of 44 years; his three children, Bonnie Lee Rastatter (Greg) of Rainier, OR; Timothy Sean Linahan (Cheryl) of Coeur D’Alene, ID; and Megan Lee Linahan of Tombstone, AZ. Seven grandchildren, Charmaine, Crystal, Sean, Ryan, Tiffany, Mariah, and Maddy Lee. His mother, March Marie Paulson of Post Falls, ID; two sisters, Michael Scott of Post Falls, ID and Patricia Linahan of Eugene, OR. Preceded in death by his father, Arthur John Linahan, and aunt Patricia Estabrook.

Ace was my friend, mentor, and a man I truly loved. I miss him.
